Union-Snyder County Senior Olympic Games Plans are underway for the 2007 Union-Snyder County Senior Olympic Games. The games begin on August 30 and conclude on September 15. Sponsored by the Union-Snyder Agency on Aging, Inc. and the Lewisburg Area Recreation Authority (LARA), the games promote fitness and a healthy lifestyle. The Union-Snyder County Senior Olympic Games are also made possible by the generosity of various businesses and individuals who make tax-deductible donations of cash, products, services, or door prizes. Last year 56 people participated, who ranged in age from 50 to 90. Anyone who will be age 50 or older as of December 31, 2007 is invited to participate in a variety of activities that will be held at various locations throughout the two-county area. You may print out the registration froms and send them to the Senior Olympic Coordinator at 116 North 2nd street, Lewisburg, PA 17837 for registration. Click here for the registration forms Men and women will compete in the following age categories: 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80+. There will be a $5, nonrefundable registration fee for people who are residents of Union or Snyder counties, and a $7 fee for those who reside in other counties. There are additional fees for bowling, golf, and miniature golf. The registration fee includes a T-shirt and the option to participate in an unlimited number of events. Everyone who competes will be eligible for a chance to win a door prize in a drawing that will be held at the conclusion of the events. All registrations must be received by August 24. No registrations will be accepted on the day of an event. |
